The Yankee Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club, Inc. (YCWCC) was established in 1989 to promote Cardigan Welsh Corgi activities in the New England area.  Regular membership - single, family and junior - is open to all Cardigan fanciers and friends residing within the New England area (CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME… also NY) and Associate Membership (non-voting) is available to anyone who lives outside of the region.  The Club was formed by a group of Cardigan exhibitors who had been meeting informally at shows, and decided to start at regional breed club with the long term goal of gaining AKC recognition.  Charter Membership was open to all Cardigan fanciers - with no restrictions on residence.

The YCWCC sponsors and/or hosts from three to four activities a year.  In 2005 the club also hosted the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America's National Specialty in Sturbridge, MA..  The annual meeting is held each July, while other meetings coincide with other scheduled events.  The club puts out a quarterly newsletter, "The Cardigan Ears", and supports its own regional breeder referral and rescue network among its members.

The YCWCC aims to provide a variety of events to include all Cardigans - from pets to group winners.  Our members are active in all areas of the dog fancy - conformation, obedience, herding, agility, tracking - and we proudly boast our certified therapy Cardigans.  For many years the Club has supported the Cardigan entry at two all breed shows (Champlain Valley Kennel Club, held each July in VT, and the "Saturday show" held during the Thanksgiving Cluster in West Springfield, MA).  The YCWCC has also supported the breed entry at other regional shows in conjunction with the parent club (CWCCA).  In addition, the Club has hosted a herding clinic and trial, held agility "fun days", tracking seminars, educational events, and sponsored two breed/obedience matches.

Elections for current officers are held every two years in accordance with our By-Laws.  The YCWCC currently boasts of a member ship of nearly 40.  Applicants must attend two events or meetings before being approved for Regular Membership,  We are an active club, and strive for full participation, coupled with fun and friendship.
